YWCA – Celebrating 160 Years

Categories: Mission, News

The YWCA USA is celebrating 160 years of action and service.

Each member organization works to meet the needs in their own community, but every YWCA is unified under the same goal:

to eliminate racism and empower women.

YWCA Wausau has been working to create lasting change for 99 years.  We were founded in 1920, just 24 days after the 19th amendment was ratified – finally giving women the right to vote.  Our organization has evolved as the community around us has changed, and we continue to invite women to leadership and action to support the mission of YWCA.

We are looking forward to serving you in 2019 with some new, exciting programs, as well as continuing with some popular favorites.
